Bluff Busters and YMCA events in 2015

Winter Walk Run Series (Dec, Jan, Feb)
Commit to staying active this winter with the Y's Winter Walk Run Series. Starting with the Jingle Bell on December 6th (Rudolph's Dash & Pancake Breakfast too) then the New Year's Resolution run on January 10th and finishing the series with the Valentine's Heart Throb on February 14th. Look for our Bluff Buster booth at the event. Visit www.laxymca.org/wwrs to register. Not running that day? Help the Y and Volunteer! Contact Travis Pernsteiner (tpernsteiner@laxymca.org) for more info.

Master's SwimThe Y is starting a Master's Swim Program! The kick off is this Saturday, November 1 at the Adult Swim Meet. Practice starts after that and will be Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm at Y-North and Saturday mornings from 7-8am at the La Crosse YMCA. Season is from November - April and the cost is $20 per month. People can pay for the entire season ($120) or set up a monthly bank draft. Chris Schubert and Ben Gill will be the coaches.

Spin-a-thonThe Spin-a-thon is set for Saturday, January 31st from 8-noon. It will be held at both facilities just like last year. Members and non-members over 14 years old are welcome to participate!

Indoor Ironman - Bluff Buster Tracking BoardComplete an Ironman in the month of February! Swim 2.4, Bike 112 and Run 26.2 miles spread out over 28 days.
NEW this year the Bluff Busters will have their own tracking board that will be displayed at both Y locations so you can see how your fellow club members are staying active through the winter. We will also be updating the results on our Bluff Buster website to make it easy to track. Registration begins in January. Registering for the Indoor Ironman will give you a 5 dollar discount on Got Energy Triathlon entry fee.

Weight Lifting:Bluff busters will be offering a few strength conditioning clinics at the YMCA this winter to help the club learn about proper lifting form and kick start the off season with some killer routines. If you are looking to learn about how to lift safely and what are the best exercises for athletes these are for you. Dates will be emailed out soon.

Monthly Fitness TestsWe will be having a similar format as last year. Each month you can send us your results and we will keep track of them. You will send in your avg watts for a 15 minute bike, distance you can run in 15 minutes, and how long it takes you to swim 200 yards (4 laps). We will be posting the results. This is a great motivation to start your training and watch your improvements over the next few months. We will start this in January.
